I had very similar feelings—I also found the characters underdeveloped and the chemistry was missing, which took away a lot from the story. The beginning was strong, as you mentioned, and then the plot starts to fizzles out :(.
Overall, I did enjoy the filming style and the actors’ performances.
Generally agree. I came out of the film appreciating the performances and energy of the film more than the actual plot or story. though im a bit if a baby when it comes to jump scares. my personal goal is to just make it to the end lol
I also felt the anxiety and panic through the screen! I didn't enjoy the feeling, but at the same time it told me that this was a horror movie that succeeded in scaring me without relying on jumpscares, overly grotesque monsters, and the like, which I thought was impressive.
i sometimes forget that horror isn’t always about jumpscares, people can just scare you with their actions or their words and that’s what made this a horror
It had similar feelings with the movie and how it just kind of faded near the end. The visuals were very impressive though and if they could've delayed the monster "reveal" a bit later, it could've held its suspense in my opinion.

i think there was more time on the development of the backrooms, i know it wasn’t supposed to make sense but some things were left very much unclear
100% agree!

I feel like people forget that horror is more than jump scares, it is truly about survival
